HD Component
Video to VGA RGBHV Format Converter
This unit is the answer to many of your HDTV
/ Home Theater dilemma. It transcodes high definition component video
coming out from HDTV cable box, HD set top box, satellite receiver, progressive
scan DVD player or video game console into
VGA or RGBHV format with crystal clear displays for HD high-definition
video entertainments on any LCD/CRT monitor,
HDTV monitors and
projectors with RGB inputs.
For those interested in taking advantage of progressive scan technology, this converter is a commendable necessity. The unit doubles as a line doubler and best suited for for state-of-the-art digital TV systems displaying high definition video in progressive scan output.
This unit has a dip switch for selecting either RGB or YPbPr (bypass) for the output format:
- When selecting RGB mode for the output, this transcoder will convert the HD component video into RGB+HV format for your VGA display.
- When selecting YPbPr mode for the output, this unit becomes a adapter instantly. No conversion is needed and you get a video loop-through. This may be needed for those projectors that can only accept HD component video signals through the D-sub 15-pin connector.
Progressive scan video devices deliver clearer,
more film-like, flicker-free images than standard interlaced video players do. They
are able to achieve an increased video quality because they update all of the
horizontal scan lines at one time in a single frame when displaying a picture.
By contrast, interlaced players only update half of the horizontal scan lines at
one time in a single frame (odd-numbered lines are updated in the first field
followed by the even-numbered lines in the second field).
If HDTV signals aren't available in your area yet, you can wow yourself and your friends by connecting a progressive-scan DVD player or HD DVD player with using this component RGB video format converter for your desktop monitor, projector or other flat panel set. Sure, regular DVD looks terrific but in progressive mode, the picture quality is raised to a whole new level of seamless and detailed clarity.
This HD component video to VGA converter is also served as a great solution for many Mitsubishi HDTV owners of the early generation. Simply coupling the VGA output of this converter with a HD 15 pin to 5 BNC breakout cable, many Mitsubishi HDTV of the earlier generation can still be suited for for high definition pictures.
