2-in-1 4-port PCMCIA CardBus Card ( 2x USB 2.0 + 2x Firewire)
This super combination CardBus adapter features two high-speed connectivity technologies, USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 (FireWire) connections, on a single PCMCIA card. It saves you money and take up only one card slot on your notebook PC.

With this card added into your older laptop PCs, It includes 2 of the USB 2.0 ports and two of the IEEE 1394 Firewire external ports, which instantly provides better performance on the speed connection and data transfer for printer, scanner, PC camera, storage, and Broadband network connections. Allows you to take full advantage of the USB 2.0 and Firewire technology on your current systems.

This card can also automatically switches to the highest speed if supported by the peripherals connected ! Users can take advantage of the scalability that USB 2.0 products and DV Firewire 1394 products provide.

Why the power adapter is needed for some USB 2.0 or Firewire devices ?

Answer: Use of the power adapter is optional. However it can ensure users that the maximum full 500mA bus power is available to those high power bus-powered USB/Firewire DV devices. Cards that do not include a power adapter are not able to provide a full 500mA of power on each port. So you may have trouble using those high USB/Firewire bus-powered devices like external USB storage, scanners, CD-RW drives, hard drives, Zip drives, PDAs due to insufficient bus power provided from the ports connected.
